Prostar Tapered Drill Bit (1.2 – 2mm)

Description

The Prostar Tapered Drill Bit has a very large taper, extending far up the drill which creates a tapered hole.

This taper point drill is primarily designed for wood, bamboo and plastic. It is made of high speed steel (HSS) to hold their sharp cutting edges longer.

What's good about using a taper point drill is it provides the best holding condition. When you use just a normal straight drill, it's not able to give the best holding condition; and not using a drill at all may damage the material.

Taper point drill is to be used to pre-drill the holes for the threaded portion of a wood screw. To ensure best holding power, it is recommended to drill not more than 2/3 of the size of the screw.
