Introducing the “Grunau Baby,” the second semi-scale glider weighing under 100g.
The actual Grunau Baby was developed in Germany in 1931 and was a representative pre-war advanced trainer aircraft, with over 6,000 units produced in 20 countries worldwide.
OK Models didn’t simply scale down the model to about 1/15th of its original size; they developed it with a structure and strength that allows it to be controlled as an RC (radio-controlled) aircraft, and it is also designed to be flyable at a weight of less than 100g.
We thoroughly reviewed the structure and placed a strong emphasis on ease of manufacturing.
The wing struts, which significantly affect flight performance, have been intentionally omitted. It would also be a good idea to modify and assemble it as a display model.
This is an ultra-compact laser-cut balsa kit, but it requires some crafting skills, such as building a ribbed main wing with a 7% airfoil thickness.
Please enjoy exhilarating flights, including ridge soaring using the wind from the embankment, while respecting proper etiquette.
The kit does not include some linkage parts.
